Changes Tree Life has made to the Courses we run
With the changes that have occurred with the Professional Diploma and the Technician's Certificate over the last few years (these changes are detailed below) Tree Life felt that it was time we changed a little of the way our courses are run too. Tree Life will no longer teach the Professional Diploma and the Technician's Certificate in the same lesson. (we have been trying to bring this in slowly for a couple of years now) The exams have moved further apart in terms of their needs and therefore, we feel it is more appropriate to have all lessons focusing on one syllabus and one qualification.
For the Technician's Certificate we will be running in a similar format in an academic year. One change will be that we are going to start a little earlier, (everyone will be have a start date in the September rather than the October) the idea behind this is making sure entries can be made for the December exams. Splitting up the taking of exams (in the modular format that the Technician's Certificate) now allows the syllabus to be more manageable right from the start, with options to retake. The course will still run over the 9 months leading up to written exams in June
Tree Life's Professional Diploma will now start in the January rather than the September, with our first enrolment date being January 2008. The reason for this big change is to run the course over 20 months rather than the current 9. Again with the changes to the syllabus we are finding the course increasingly needs more time to be covered fully. Tree Life have always stated that our aim is to prepare candidates in the best possible way so that they are fully ready for their exams, our exam results have shown we consistently achieve this aim. We now want to make sure this standard continues and we feel this is the best way to achieve this. We hope our current and potential students will understand the need for the change and will accept the new start date. All sessions will be held in Academic term times where possible. This gives the excellent opportunity to take exams at your own pace, at 3 times prior to the September management exercises (June, Dec & June). This system of course also allows for retakes within the current year of study rather than the following year.
